Invertebrate Project

Ethan and his 2nd grade class had an optional science project where they had to create an invertebrate model using food.  He chose a spider and then Warren and I got to work. (Notice I didn’t say Ethan…he lost interest after 2 minutes.) But, I didn’t want him to be the only one without a creepy crawly food creation. I turned an ordinary white paper plate into an appropriate  place for a spider. Warren made the spider body out of brownies, the legs are tootsie rolls, the eyes are tic-tacs, and the mouth is a pecan. Not bad, eh?
Oh, we had to make it during our visit in New York. We left NY on Sunday afternoon and the kids had school Monday morning. The spider survived the trip!
Ethan went to school and proudly accepted all the compliments for “his” project! Totally made by mom and dad… ;)

Cheaters! LOL! At least he has an appropriate shirt!

Beth

That’s the tastiest looking spider I’ve ever seen:)

The spider turned out great!
