Happy 2nd Birthday, Josie!

Our good friends little girl recently turned two and we had a good time at her party! Isn’t this picture precious?
Isaac attempts what turned out to be the impossible ring toss game. 🙂 He ended up “winning” a pop.  We made him trade it in for sprite at he wasn’t too happy about that…
Ethan and Isaac played the blame game, but one of them was responsible for tangling the apple strings. Warren worked for a good long time to fix it.
Look at the size of Isaac’s mouth!
Balloon pop.
Lincoln gives Josie her gift. He felt so special. 🙂
She loved her baby.
So refined… guess we had better work on that!
Lincoln held the balloons on the way home. He kept saying, “Mom, hi!” as he looked through the balloon.
Ethan’s loot!

Piles of Leaves, Piles of Smiles

It’s so fun as a parent to watch my child experience the simply joys of childhood! Lincoln LOVES the leaves!
Owen and Alex are such fun cousins!
Such a big helper, Alex.
I’m not sure what Alex did to deserve such an expression from Lincoln!
I think you might have a little something on your lip, buddy.

Falk Family Fall Fun on the Farm!

We enjoyed a chilly, but beautiful Fall day at the farm. Ethan went a little early with his friend, Stevie to the corn maze. He met up with us after the hay ride.
Isaac wanted this pumpkin, of course!
Our two little guys together while we wait patiently in the freezing breeze for Ethan to return to us.
“Where’s the camera?” … “There it is!” At least he was looking this time 🙂
Taking more pictures while waiting for Ethan.
Yay, Ethan is back! Such special guys. I’m sad they are getting so grown up!
Yum! The pumpkin cookie was definitely a highlight…especially for Isaac who inherited mommy’s terrible sweet tooth!
Our family all together enjoying a lovely afternoon. We are so blessed!

Safety Pup!

Safety Pup made a special visit to Isaac’s kindergarten classroom. Each child had the chance to recite their address and phone number to make Safety Pup jump up and dance.  On the way home Isaac said, “I know there was a woman under that costume.” I asked how he knew since Safety Pup never said a word. He said when he (she) bent down he could see long hair in the back. He also mentioned that the week prior to Safety Pup’s visit they had a female police officer come to the classroom and she told about her special dog friend… Too smart, that boy.

Invertebrate Project

Ethan and his 2nd grade class had an optional science project where they had to create an invertebrate model using food.  He chose a spider and then Warren and I got to work. (Notice I didn’t say Ethan…he lost interest after 2 minutes.) But, I didn’t want him to be the only one without a creepy crawly food creation. I turned an ordinary white paper plate into an appropriate  place for a spider. Warren made the spider body out of brownies, the legs are tootsie rolls, the eyes are tic-tacs, and the mouth is a pecan. Not bad, eh?
Oh, we had to make it during our visit in New York. We left NY on Sunday afternoon and the kids had school Monday morning. The spider survived the trip!
Ethan went to school and proudly accepted all the compliments for “his” project! Totally made by mom and dad… 😉

Trip to New York

Our family went to NY for a few days to visit my side of the family. We stayed in a hotel with a pool and the kids loved it! We swam in the evenings before bed. It was a great way to tire them out while enjoying some cousin fun!

Lincoln hung out with Daddy in the pool while I stayed nice and dry, chatting with my mom.

Mya, Megan, and Ethan at the pool. Megan and Ethan are only 10 days apart.

Ethan loved hanging out in the “5 feet deep” end of the pool. He felt very cool!

Isaac felt more comfortable staying in the “3 feet deep” end.

My Aunt Julie and cousin, Jenna.

My cousin, Jedd and my niece, Megan.

Silly, happy, kids!

Random Pictures from NY

While in New York we always try to visit Pastor and Mrs. Mohl. I called them on Saturday for a spur of the moment lunch. Luckily for us, their plans for the day fell through and they were free! It’s always great to sit down and chat with them. They really are very special to us!

My mom’s bird, Moe. He looks just like my childhood bird, Spike. I took Spike outside one summer day and he flew away.  Warren laughs every time he hears that story…so insensitive sometimes! 🙂

Ethan and his word search with 100 words! He was so excited he could hardly contain himself! He loves word searches. In fact, on the drive to NY he was busy in the backseat working on one when he asked, “How many more hours till we get there?” I told him we still had 4 hours left and his response was, “YES!” He then asked how long it would take an airplane to fly from our house to NY and I told him about an hour. He said, “That’s why I never want to fly.” Even Isaac agreed and said he loves long car rides.  Wish I could say the same…

The kids thought it was so funny to stick their fingers in the aquarium for the fish to nibble on.

Little Lincoln running inside to warm up. It was chilly!
