Mommy’s Birthday!
I had an awesome birthday this year!!
At 6:30 AM Warren gave me a hug and wished me a happy birthday before he left for work.
At 7:16 Ethan came running into my room waving a piece of paper in his hands saying “Happy Birthday, Mommy!”. The rule at our house is that he cannot go downstairs until 7:00 each morning. And every day at that time you can be sure to hear his happy-it’s-morning footsteps running down the stairs. This morning was no exception. But, on this morning he was eager to get started on my birthday picture. Nobody had to remind him that it was my birthday. He was so proud to give this picture to me and told me, “It only took me 16 minutes!” His drawing melted me heart and I (almost) cried happy tears. Ethan has been so thoughtful lately. His picture was great, but it was his thoughtfulness that really made me feel special!

I took the boys to the mall where we met up with Warren for lunch.
We had the boys picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Lincoln liked the bunny just fine from a distance and from the security of Mommy’s and Daddy’s arms. But, he was not so crazy about this huge, furry, animal holding him. Way too close for comfort!
The quality is not the greatest…it’s a picture of a picture. We were having problems with the scanner.
We ate at Chick-Fil-A and then Warren headed back to work. Kari and the boys were at the mall too. She and I took the kids to the pet store. We got an adorable puppy out and let the kids play with it. My boys still have never asked for a dog…that’s a good thing! We have several neighbors with dogs so they can get their dog-fill from them just fine.
While letting the kids play at the play place in the mall I was asked, by a random mom, where I get my hair cut. The best part is, she asked because she liked it so much! Compliments are even more fun to receive when it’s your birthday!
It was so sweet of Ethan to think of you and make you something special.
Ethan will never ask for a dog after his experience at the mall! The little puppy was so cute, but Ethan didn’t like it chasing and nipping him.
Awww…So sweet! A very nice birthday picture, indeed!
