Ethan

I like this picture of Ethan because he looks so grown up and mature, but he still has ALL his baby teeth.

He is the only kid in his class who has not lost a tooth. He needs to see the dentist soon because he two middle bottom adult teeth have already come up…behind his baby teeth! We tell him that he’s turning into a shark. :) Poor Ethan, he will surely need braces some day.

I ordered one of these frog planters for each child in his classroom. They painted the frog at school and planted grass seed. He is very proud that his grass is growing so nicely.

Daddy’s helper

Warren has started the project of hanging the flat screen above the mantle. Lincoln loves all the tools, noise, and mess that is involved.

Shortly after this picture was taken Warren cut a bigger block of drywall out so he could run the wire. Behind the insulation he noticed something strange. It turns out we had a huge birds nest in our wall! He filled a trash bag full of hay and bird droppings! (Gross!) We could hear it every once in a while, but never realized it was so out of control. We thought the nest was on the outside of the house… As Warren kept pulling more and more hay out from the wall he said, “This is what nightmares are made of!” Kind of creepy.

Going to the Park

Like my shades?

Chillin’ in the swing.

Lincoln is swinging with his cousins.

My little climber! What a monkey this boy is…

Lincoln wanted to get his hands on those ducks!

Owen, Owen, Owen…

Don’t you just love how honest toddlers can be? We had Dan and Kari and the kids over for our first cook-out of the year. Warren made his mouth-watering, juicy, bacon-cheeseburgers! (YUM!) I made macaroni salad, and we had baked beans, corn, and pineapple. I ate way too much and thought it was sooo good! (If I do say so myself!) Well, Owen disagreed. When Kari told him to eat his dinner, he said, “My dinner is so yucky, I can’t like it, Mommy.”

Oh well, you can’t please everyone. However, I did win him over with my dessert!

He even wanted to stay all night. He told his parents to go home and he was ready to stay much longer. Someday soon I am sure our boys will have all kinds of sleepovers!

“Gi’ gock… Owww!”

This is the phrase we hear Lincoln say over and over again from his carseat while we are driving. He loves trucks!  He is actually saying, “big truck, WOW!” I started saying that to him a few weeks ago when we would see a big truck. It’s adorable listening to him repeat it with his very enthusiastic little voice.

He has some toy trucks at home and he loves to bring them to me while saying “gi’ gock!” He likes to show off his first phrase.  :)  So cute!

Handsome at Five

Here are some pictures I took of Isaac on his birthday. I am having trouble deciding which one to frame. He was in a very “serious” mood during his photo session. It was hard getting a natural smile out of him.

He really is a neat kid. He’s our little comedian.  Isaac enjoys playing alone and having time to himself. He has a sweet heart, but can also be quite stubborn.

He is a joy to have in our family and he fits into his role as middle child quite well! He’s a special guy!

Isaac’s (5th!) Birthday

It’s hard for me to think of Isaac as a 5-year-old. It just doesn’t seem right. But, unfortunately there is nothing I can do to keep him little. Time is just ticking away too fast!

Here is our little cutie showing us how old he is.

Warren took the day off work. We celebrated Isaac’s birthday lunch at Chuck-E-Cheese. He soaked up all the attention! (big brother was at school) During lunch he said, “I am having so much fun!” He enjoyed watching Warren and I play ski ball because that seemed to produce the most tickets. We collected 101 tickets and he cashed them in for some goodies. He was thrilled!

Ready for the party! Isaac chose a “knights” theme. He loves his playmobil!

The guests included: Uncle Dan, Aunt Kari, cousins Owen and Alex, Halle, Austin, Josiah, Rachel and Josie.

Isaac picked his favorite ‘guys’ to stand on the cake.

This just might be the cutest knight I have ever seen!

My sweet boy on his 5th birthday. Still little enough for me to hold.

Happy Birthday!!! BLOW!

Playmobil guys! Woohoo!

Haha, I love Isaac’s expression here! I think he liked Halle’s gift! (Did I mention that he LOVES playmobil?)

Ethan read the cards. Isaac was a little too distracted by the presents, though!

The gift from Mommy and Daddy. Every knight needs a castle… I got this on clearance at a toy store. They just happened to have a couple of their castles 65% off. Perfect!

Here is the assembled castle. (Thanks Uncle Dan!)

What a great day for a little boy turning 5! We had a lot of fun celebrating such a special birthday.

Circus Night!

Our family right before the circus started. (Lincoln stayed home with a babysitter so we could enjoy the older two without interruptions. It was so nice only having two kids for a night!)

A very nice man sitting in the row in front of us offered to take Dan and Kari’s picture. I quickly said, “Could you please take our picture too!”

Ethan’s favorite! He said, “Look at THAT knight!” He also loved the white horse.

Isaac was not thrilled for the first 20 minutes or so. He was scared that “the fireworks were going to get him.” He sat on his daddy’s lap and looked nervous. He started to get comfortable after we convinced him that he was safe.

Daddy was a ’softy’ and bought cotton candy for the boys. They were very excited! And it only cost $10.00! At least it came with a cool hat.

Once the cotton candy came Ethan suddenly forgot about his upset stomach that he had been complaining about just minutes prior! He was fine the rest of the night. I guess he was low on sugar!

Never too old to enjoy cotton candy!

Dan, Kari, and Owen. It’s so fun having them close to us so we can do things together!

I thought this was so cute…in a strange sort of way!

Overall we had a good time! (Despite the LONG walk to the van)

A day to let loose…and celebrate Dr. Suess

What a fun morning Ethan had with his 1st grade class! The kids were such adorable little (things)! His creative teacher came up with this idea. She said once she has something in her head she has to do it despite all the time and effort. (She hand painted each jump suit!) Well worth it, I think!
