First bus pick-up!

It was such a strange feeling putting Ethan on the bus for the first time. He’s growing up so fast.
He waved a blew a kiss to me from his bus window. So sweet!

My first bus was #76 and then at Southwestern, I would switch to #62. My first driver was nice: ie. he let me comb his hair and even gave me gum. I was a kindergartener on a high school bus so I got special attention. My second driver was not nice. I know this because he NEVER gave me gum. I was surprised at Christmas time to get a mini-candy cane from him. I remember being excited because maybe he was nice, after all!
That was all 28 years ago. This tells me two things, One: I have a good memory and Two: …..Hmmm, Now, what was two?
I was just telling Lynn about Art, the bus driver, and having to switch to the bus with the not-so-nice driver.
I didn’t remember the name or number of the not-so-nice guy, but I remembered Art, #76, and I’m pretty sure his birthday was early April… 7th, I think. He passed out gum to everyone on that day.
I remember riding home with Art on a different bus in kindergarten because it was only a half day. That one was a short bus (cue the jokes).
I am trying to figure out what jokes you are cue-ing…
The only one I can think of is “That’s what she said”.
short bus : noun. (derogatory): school bus shorter in length than a conventional school bus commonly used to transport students with physical or mental handicaps
