Big Pillow Fight!

Ethan and Isaac were told to clean their play room today. They seemed very overwhelmed by the task. It turns out they just needed a little motivation. Once they found out that Daddy was going to have a pillow fight with them after they cleaned, they sure got busy. The boys were very proud of their work and couldn’t wait for us to come down and see the finished job. They did do a good job and deserved a pillow fight. I could hear the laughter from two stories above them. The pictures show just how much fun they had!
Not smart, boys…I hope the pillow-fight was worth tipping your hand.
Now your mom and dad know that you can clean!
Yes, motivation is important! And interestingly enough, that motivation doesn’t have to cost a penny! What the children love is time with their parents doing something fun. And Warren, it looks like you were really getting into that fight!
About motivation not necessarily costing a penny…
The other day I could not seem to get Hannah interested in getting her morning routine done (hair, teeth, make bed, get dressed). So I took Annette aside and challenged her, “Annette if you can get your whole morning routine done before Hannah, I will give you a quarter!”
Annette took only a moment to consider, “No, I don’t want to race.”
“OK, then, I’ll give you some Sweet Heart candies”
That did the trick!
Later I told Hannah about it:
Her response?
“I would have taken the quarter.”
