The broken window made quite the mess inside my car.

Do you have a car alarm? I am surprised that there weren’t alarms going off all over the place! Maybe they were disabled somehow, which kind of defeats the purpose!

Reminds me of the night Nathan’s (well, mom and Dad’s) van was stolen from the front of our house. He was spending the night. He came into my room about 11:30 or a little later and woke us up to say that his car had been stolen. Same as you, he heard noises outside but in his case he got up and looked out.

It turned up a few blocks away and nothing had been stolen. Not even the checkbook. The most valuable thing there was his violin. Not surprising, that wasn’t interesting to them!

I did have a Bible stolen once, though–go figure!

John and I had several of our corn hole bags stolen once. We couldn’t find them for days. They had gotten wet from rain and so we left them out in the driveway to dry and when we went out later that day there was only two of the eight left. We couldn’t imagine why someone would take them. We figured it must be kids. We left the two there in the driveway thinking maybe we could catch some kids doing it again. We caught the thief alright. It was a dog. Actually two dogs. I saw them come and each pick up a bag and walk off with it. So I followed them down the street (very discretely). I didn’t want them to see me, drop, the bags and run off. So I followed them in hopes that they would lead me to the rest, and sure enough, they did. We found all six bags plus the two they had just stolen. They were making a nice little pile for themselves in their backyard. Well, that’s not nearly as traumatic as what happened to you, but it’s the only instance I’ve got and it’s kinda funny anyway.

Haha, Bethany! that is funny! I’ve never heard you tell that one before!
