Getting so big…

Warren took this shot of Isaac. He looked so cute sitting in the big chair playing on the computer. I love how his little feet are dangling, one sock on and one off.

Recently, Ethan and Isaac were playing in the sand box and Warren and I were commenting on how nicely they were playing and sharing. We were far enough away so they could not hear what we were saying. A few minutes later, Ethan yells, “Hey, Mommy!” I said, “Yes?” He proudly said, “Me and Isaac are playing so well today…that’s because there’s nothing else to do!”
On Monday evening we attended a meeting for friends of ours whose brother is starting a new church in our area. They provided childcare and dessert so we were there! (those were not the only reasons we were there, of course!) Anyway, Ethan and Isaac’s “teacher” came to me after the meeting was over to tell me a cute story about Ethan. Apparently one of the mommies brought cheerios in for everyone to share. When the teacher put some out for Ethan he politely said, “No thank you, I eat big boy food now.”
I am going to start putting stories like this on the blog. It will be a place where I can journal the things I would like to remember. Warren said this will all be safe and 20, 30, years down the road I will be able to look back and read about things that are happening right now. It will be nice for the children to be able to do the same.

He was really proud of his elbow pads and knee pads. He flexed his arms and said they were like muscles! It’s a good thing he got knee and elbow pads with his skates because they sure came in handy!

Isaac got these roller skates from a friend at church for his birthday. Warren and I laughed so hard watching him skate for the first time. I took video and I can’t wait for him to watch it when he’s older!

Owen decided to turn his head and close his eyes right before I snapped this picture. If I was a second quicker this would have been super cute!
Ethan was very funny during the gift opening. He just loves to be in control over Isaac and decide things for him. At one point Isaac opened a gift that contained several little figurines from the movie, Toy Story. It wasn’t long before we heard Ethan’s excited voice…”Isaac, I’ll show you which one you can have!” Towards the end of opening the gifts, Ethan again gave us a good laugh by shouting, “Isaac, look at all the stuff WE got!” That’s our Ethan…
Isaac just goes about his business in his own little carefree bubble. He is usually happy to do whatever Ethan tells him to do. It’s a good thing his personality is different from Ethan’s. However as he gets older he is learning to stand up for himself and he is pretty good at defending himself when he needs to. He certainly is not a push-over like we had feared he may become.
I meant to post this a few days ago, but forgot.

Owen was also at Isaac’s party! I noticed I didn’t post any pictures of him. Check out his festive shirt…just right for the party!

I am sure Isaac will have a blast sucking up bugs and bringing them in to show us!

Isaac got so many nice gifts for his birthday. He has been a very busy three-year-old so far!

I love this picture…I just want to kiss those cheeks!

We made caterpillar magnets and Isaac’s party. The kids had a good time making them.
We are just waiting for everyone to buzz on over!
I made this caterpillar cake and these spider cupcakes for Isaac’s party. He really liked them and they were a lot of fun to make.

We took Isaac to Chuck-E-Cheeses for dinner. We will be having his party on Saturday.

Happy Birthday, sweet boy!
