The Boys and Their Jack-o-lanterns

We had a beautiful, warm, sunny day! I thought it would be a good time to carve pumpkins. I thought the boys would love it, but they lost interest within 10 minutes. I spent over an hour carving the pumpkins for them. I am surprised I got a picture with their hands inside the pumpkin because once they felt it, that was the end of that! Ethan wanted a pumpkin with a mean face, of course. I made Isaac’s pumpkin really happy, but he thinks it’s mean like Ethan’s because it has 5 teeth.

This picture makes the boys look so grown up!

We took the boys to get an updated picture together. I thought they turned out pretty cute!

Such a handsome little boy!

Isaac is holding a caterpillar in his hand. The sweater he is wearing used to be Ethan’s from two years ago. Just recently I went to a yard sale and they had this hat (and gloves)! I didn’t know they had ever made a matching hat for the sweater, so I was very excited. I love this outfit!

We took the boys to Iron’s Fruit farm so Isaac could also have the chance to go on a hay ride. He love it!

Ethan was much more interested in this smashed pumpkin than the other nice pumpkins.

Here is a picture of Ethan with his teacher, Mrs. Whitaker and the rest of the students in his class. It was field trip day and we went to Windmill Farm. It was a cold, windy morning. The kids were all bundled up in winter coats and hats. The hay ride was a lot of fun. We went through the woods, up and down big hills and through huge mud puddles that looked more like mini ponds. There are mostly boys in Ethan’s class and they all thought the mud was so cool!

Ethan was so funny when it came time to choose a pumpkin. He just could not decide, there were so many. He finnaly settled on one, a big one.

Isaac wears big boy underwear! While snapping this spur-of-the-moment picture Isaac posed like this while shouting “Ta-Da!”

I threw a baby shower for Kari (Owen) on Monday evening of this week. We all had a really good time.

We ended the night with a hayride. We stopped to hear a story for the kids. It was really neat, there was a man carving a pumpkin and he used it as an illustration to present the gospel message.

We went to a fall festival at a local church with the Mabry family. Nathan and Rachel sang there so we wanted to go and watch them. They had all kinds of activities for the kids.

Isaac went to a birthday party for his little friend Anna who was turning two. He had a good time. However, after being in a small room with 8 two-year-olds for two hours, I was all partied out!

Once Isaac saw Chuck-E he didn’t care about anything else. He followed him all around with his arms open ready for a hug. He didn’t even mind when Chuck-E almost stepped on him several times! Finally after about 10 minutes of following him, Chuck-E sat down next to Isaac and gave him a hug!

Ethan loved this ride!

Ethan and Isaac woke up pretty early this morning. When I came downstairs shorty after, I found them sharing a chair and working on their letters together.
